RUDLOE Reserves lifted the Spring Cup after one of the best Trowbridge League finals for years at Warminster Town on Tuesday.
Opponents Semington Magpies twice fought back, from 0-3 and then 2-4 down, to equalise at 4-4 late in the second half, only for Rudloe to win 4-2 on penalties.
Magpies missed early chances before Shane Godsall gave Rudloe the lead with a well taken goal after 14 minutes and Luke Woolf added a second goal after 17 minutes. The game appeared to be all over in the 38th minute when Woolf added a third.
After the interval two goals from Kelvin Lockwood, who had travelled from Southampton University to play, brought the Magpies back into the game, before a neat glancing header from Warren Jones in the 71st minute established a 4-2 lead for Rudloe.
Again the Magpies fought back and Dan Phillips made it 4-3 in the 83rd minute before Lockwood hammered home the equaliser two minutes later to complete a well-deserved hat-trick.
After goal-less extra-time the match went to penalties and Magpies missed two to give Rudloe victory by 4-2.
The cup and trophies were presented by Andy Meaden of cup sponsors AM Print and Copy.
Man of the match award went to Kelvin Lockwood.
