THE Stiffs were sunk twice in three days by Bradford Town Reserves in Division Three.
Stiffs' goalkeeper Dave Carroll headed into his own net to assist Town to a 4-0 success after their earlier 5-1 victory.
Jason Harford, Mark Robinson and Jason Povey, who notched a midweek hat-trick including a penalty, were the other Town scorers.
Two wins in three days have put Rudloe Reserves back into title contention. One-time leaders Lavington, after being hit by a Steve Mallard hat-trick in a shock 3-3 draw by Castle Combe A, were held again after Myles Hickton and Jamie Bayes had established another two-goal cushion at Frome Town Sports A. Ben Derrick and Dave Dawley wiped the arrears out for Frome.
Rowde thrashed Calne Eagles 6-2. Eagles' Dan Thompson and Kevin Hammersley replied to doubles from Jamie Mullings and Adie Bridge, a Jon Knight header and Danny Fennell's opening own goal.
A 2-0 midweek win for Trowbridge Wanderers, with Steve Coombes and Dave Cooper on target over 10-man Bradford United Reserves kept Duncan Pugh's outfit in the promotion frame. But four goals from Dan Phillips and one from Nathan Walker sent Wanderers crashing to a 5-0 reverse against Magpies, who in the week shared the spoils at Frome.
Castle Combe A moved up two places, with hot-shot Steve Mallard on strike with two more in the 3-1 triumph over FC Chippenham, Will Couzens replying to another effort from Tim Spear.
Blue Circle have the upper hand in the Division Two title stakes. After a 1-0 defeat by rivals CS Filos, Steve Martin's charges hit back for a 5-1 victory in the immediate return.
Ryan Mead, Gary King. Liam Williams, Chris Vaughan and Andy Craig scored for Circle, with Jason Wilcox replying.
The Deverills, who still have to play Filos, started the week in second place after another Mike Payne hat-trick, including a penalty, clinched a 3-2 win at Castle Combe Reserves, who replied through Simon Smith and Danny Swallow.
Stuart Barber's second half winner and Hilperton's failure to take chances ended the promotion aspirations of the Whaddon Lane club. In the fourth meeting of the season, Tom Brunning wiped out Neil Hannaford's opener for Hilperton just before the break.
Freshford United's finish second from bottom of Division One after a 3-0 defeat at Broughton Gifford John Hubbard (penalty), Tom Staddon and Ashley Groves scoring from the champions was followed by a 1-0 home reverse by North Bradley Saints. Saints snatched vital title points through Richard Bliha's first half strike.
Trowbridge United went down 2-1 for the second time to Seend United whose final league game produced a double from Kevin Bryant. Gareth Johnson replied.
Rudloe, who entertain Saints in a possible title decider on April 30, hit five for the second time this term against Dynamo West End for whom Trevor Jones replied with a penalty to doubles from Andy Keogh and Liam Ralph and one from Stuart Hynes.
