NEIL Kirkpatrick is trying to keep the pressure off his young Trowbridge Town side as the Hellenic League Division One title run-in reaches its climax.

The Bees boss is urging his players to just concentrate on their own results rather than worrying about how their rivals are getting on.

Goals from Dan Lardner and Matt Cooper sealed a comfortable win for the league leaders on Wednesday night but having played a game more than Shrivenham and being just a point ahead Kirkpatrick knows it is out of their hands.

He said: "During the title run last year we got edgy and nervy and nearly messed it up when it should have been quite routine.

"I want the players to be more relaxed for our last four games because the pressure is not on us.

"All we can do is win our games and then we will see where that gets us.

"We played poorly in the first half on Wednesday but then produced a superb second half display that should give us a lot of confidence."

Trowbridge entertain Headington Amateurs tomorrow before travelling to Kidlington on Wednesday.

Kirkpatrick said: "In the next two weeks we have two midweek games where each time we will have to leave by 3pm.

"Games against Kidlington and Hook Norton would be difficult enough anyway but I expect a few players will have problems getting away from work.

"We are certainly not counting our chickens yet but if we do not win the title then fair play to team who beats us."
