THE owner of a pleasure boat company has set off on a 630-mile trek along the south west coast path.
Chris Yalland, general manager of Sally Boats in Bradford on Avon, is raising awareness of the lack of safe drinking water in the Third World.
Trekking from Minehead in Somerset to South Haven Point near Poole, Dorset, Mr Yalland aims to be back home by May 11, in time for his daughter's 18th birthday.
The Walk 4 Water journey will see Mr Yalland cover an average of 22 miles a day.
Mr Yalland, 43, pictured above, said: "I felt I had to do something to draw attention to the plight of these people and try to help alleviate the suffering and death. I am expecting long hard days."
