A DEAD man found in a car at a Swindon rubbish tip is expected to be named today.
The body was discovered early yesterday morning at Chapel Farm tip at Blunsdon.
It is believed that the man took his own life.
Police were called after a worker found the body in a gold-coloured Volkswagen car in an access road leading to site, owned by the Hills Group.
The man is believed to be local, and police spent yesterday tracing his next of kin.
An inquest is expected to be opened today when police release his name. His vehicle was removed for forensic examination.
The landfill site at Blunsdon Hill employs 12 people and takes all of Swindon's household waste.
It had to close from 6am to 10.30am while investigations were carried out yesterday.
Refuse collections were delayed as a result, and there may be disruptions today.
Swindon Council needed to make alternative arrangements to empty trucks.
Spokeswoman Sarah Deacon said: "We ask any residents expecting their waste to be collected today to bear with us and watch out for updates in the local media or on our website."
