SWINDON CANCER APPEAL:PLACES are available for the Macmillan abseil on April 30.
Around two dozen have signed up to abseil down 100ft down the side of the WHSmith building in Greenbridge.
Volunteers have to raise a minimum of £100 to take part, and all instruction and safety checks will be carried by the Royal Artillery Display Troop.
Graziella Campisano, fund manager for the Swindon Cancer Appeal said: "People do it for the adrenalin rush or even because they have set themselves a challenge, or even just to get over a fear."
Last year 51 people took part and raised a total of £12,000 and organisers want to better that this year.
This year the money will go towards two new trainee Macmillan nurse posts and a Macmillan clinical psychologist in cancer and palliative care.
If you can help, or are interested in abseiling, call the Swindon Cancer Appeal office on 01793 432252.
