FATHER Clive Gowland is still in a critical condition in hospital.
The 45-year-old is in a specialist neurological unit at the Royal London Hospital following a brutal attack just yards from his Penhill home.
He was hit around the head with a piece of wood on April 12.
Police say his condition is critical but stable.
Michael Squire, 40, of Ramsbury Avenue, Penhill, has been charged with with grievous bodily harm.
He is in custody and is due to appear in court on April 22.
