POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a 16-year-old was punched and kicked to the ground.
The teenager was walking home from a night out in Swindon town centre when he was assaulted by two men on Sunday.
The attackers approached him from behind at 2.15am in Ferndale Road and demanded money, but fled when they realised he did not have any.
He suffered cuts and swelling to his face and arms.
The suspects are described as white and young. They were wearing dark jeans and long sleeved T-shirts.
The assault comes after 16-year-old Sean Kearney, of Draycot Foliat, near Chisledon, was attacked by youths in the town centre. As reported yesterday the gang hit him with the ninja weapon nunchuka.
Anyone with information should call the police 01793 528111.
