WORK has started at Amesbury on the building of a £1.8m pub-restaurant - a venture that will create between 35 and 40 full- and part-time jobs when the establishment opens in October.
The new Brewers Fayre site will be a mile east of the town centre, on the 160-acre Solstice Park development, which is taking shape off the main A303 trunk road.
Once completed, the new business park itself will employ 1,500 people and the Brewers Fayre pub-restaurant will share its site with a 100-bed Atlantic hotel, a fast-food chain and petrol filling station.
The pub is one of 16 new Brewers Fayre outlets opening across the UK this year. The group currently operates more than 300 pubs nationwide.
Commenting on the Amesbury pub, David Langley, business development manager for Brewers Fayre, said: "This is an exciting development for Brewers Fayre. We're sure the location will attract local customers as well as tourists, who regularly come to explore this historic part of England.
"The brand new pub-restaurant promises to be the perfect place to enjoy a meal out and will offer an ideal location for diners or hotel guests to enjoy a drink in the bar or a meal in the restaurant."
