A ROADSHOW that aims to help tip the work-life balance in your favour is coming to Swindon.

Working to Live is run by David Oliver, a work-life balance expert who is taking charge at the event, which is run by the charity Care for the Family.

Among the questions to be answered are how to stop living to work and start working to live, and how to escape the rut of a daily routine.

The sinking feeling of going to work, going home, going to bed and then going to work again is also covered, and Mr Oliver says he can help attendees get more from life and find the right job.

Mr Oliver is a respected and experienced speaker in the business world and is associate director of the UK's Marketing Guild, as well as the senior partner at Insight Marketing.

He has trained more than 100,000 people through motivational speaking and has written six books on the subject.

"Work should be fun and one of life's passions," he said. "Although the reality is that many of us don't enjoy our jobs.

Among the points that Working to Live tackles are 12 strategies for outstanding performance, how to play to your strengths, several practical steps to avoid burnout, and ways to turn stale work into fresh energy.

There are also tips on family and work relationships, avoiding the traps that sap energy and ways of staying motivated.

"This event will challenge you and change your perception of work. Discover that missing ingredient and make your life more fulfilling," he said.

l Mr Oliver will be speaking at Freshbrook Evangelical Church in Worsley Road on Wednesday, April 27.

The event runs from 7.30pm to 10pm and tickets, which are £6, are available from Care for the Family, PO Box 488, Cardiff CF15 7YY, by calling 02920 810800 or online at www.careforthefamily.org.uk
