THERE were two wins in a row for local match star Gary Etheridge last week at Ivy House Lakes, Wootton Bassett.

He topped the Wednesday Open with a cracking 61lb from unlucky peg 13.

Second was local hotelier Simon Collins, who took time off from his cooking duties to land 39lb 10oz of mainly carp from peg 5.

Another water regular, Elick Payne, from Chippenham, followed in third place with a 34lb catch taken from peg 7.

And he was followed by another angler regularly in the placings, Simon Jones with 33-14-0 from peg 12.

Etheridge made it two wins on the trot in the Friday Open at the water with 29lb 4oz (peg 17).

He was followed by Derek Hillier with 19lb 6oz from peg 21, Simon Jones 17-6-0 (peg 7) and Don Chapman 10-8-0 (peg 24).

Payne was in winning ways in the Saturday Open at Ivy House with 29-8-0 from peg 10, followed by Richard (Baz) Baston 26-8-0 (peg 23). Paul Connor was third 19-12-0 from peg 19.

The Wednesday club match held at Bourton-on-the-Water resulted in a close finish.

Results: 1 Alan Clarke 57-8-0, 2 Malcolm Ocknell 56 lb, 3 Alan Scully 53-4-0, 4 Len Simpson 42lb.
