YOUNGSTERS at a Swindon nursery marked the London Marathon in their own way.
Children at Jigsaw Day Nursery, off Pipers Way, were sponsored to run round the nursery garden as many times as they could.
The day's exertions raised funds for the children's charity NSPCC.
The children, who took part in the event on Monday, were following in the footsteps of dozens of people from Swindon who completed the 26-mile marathon course in London on Sunday, earning tens of thousands of pounds for local and national charities.
One of them, Helen Scahill, was at the nursery to take part in the mini-marathon.
Winner of the event was four-year-old Olivia Cunningham, of Lakeside, who managed to run round the course 18 times.
Nicky Elkins, who organised the event, said: "Although it was a cold and windy day, it was a big success, and we'll be doing it again next year. We hope to have raised about £200."
