Hampshire and Durham maintained their flying starts to the new Frizzell County Championship season with emphatic bowling performances.
First Division Hampshire ran through the Sussex batting order at Hove, bowling the hosts out for 252 despite 104 from Michael Yardy and 87 from Murray Goodwin.
Billy Taylor was the star of last week's win over Gloucestershire but this time it was fellow seamer Chris Tremlett's turn to shine as he picked up a career-best 6-44.
His victims included centurion Yardy, who defied the visitors for 222 balls and hit 14 fours in his third hundred in as many matches. His third wicket partnership with Goodwin - one of two victims for Shane Warne - was worth 172.
Hampshire were 67-1 in reply at the close with Kevin Pietersen still to waiting to begin his first championship innings for his new county.
Durham's Second Division encounter with Worcestershire at the Riverside was following a similar pattern.
The hosts skittled Worcestershire for 171 thanks to best figures of six for 32 from Mark Davies and then closed on 139 for two.
Stephen Moore (46) and Stephen Peters (30) put on 75 for the first Worcestershire wicket but Davies removed six of the top seven before England paceman Steve Harmison (three for 25) finished off the tail.
Debutant Chaminda Vaas claimed the early wicket of Mike Hussey as Durham made a shaky start in reply but Paul Collingwood's 88 not out put them in control.
