15854/1GAZETTE & HERALD: EIGHT-year-old Danielle Simpkins will finally get the specialist pushchair she needs thanks to Corsham's Green Ginger health food shop.
Owners of the shop, based in the Martin Gate centre, took it upon themselves to raise all £1,483 and last week they managed it, less than a month after launching the fundraiser.
Danielle has Rett's Syndrome, a complex neurological disorder which means she can't walk or talk. She has outgrown the special pushchair she relies on to get out of the house but her mother's application for funding for a new chair had been turned down.
Mum Joanne said: "It's absolutely brilliant we've got there. Green Ginger have been so good."
The Chippenham Lions donated the final £200 on Friday, which means mum can order the new pushchair for Danielle.
The plucky pupil, who goes to St Nicholas School in Chippenham, has been offered a trip to Florida to swim with dolphins in May, with the Dreams Come True charity for young people with life limiting illnesses.
Nina Hammett, joint owner of the shop, donated the first £300 to get the ball rolling. She said if it hadn't been for one very special anonymous donation they would still be a long way off the target.
"It's brilliant. I'm really pleased that we've been able to to do this for Danielle to get this push chair for when she goes off on her dream holiday,"
Mrs Simpkins, of Broomfield, Chippenham said: "It's going to make Danielle's dream come true."
