Paul and Debbie DowseTHE mystery of who kidnapped and demanded a ransom for the return of a china greyhound from a Pewsey pub has deepened.
The 15 inch ornament was dognapped from behind the bar in the Greyhound pub on April 1.
Paul and Debbie Dowse who run the pub then received a ransom note saying the pooch would be returned if a voucher for a meal for two was placed in the pub window.
The licencees followed the instructions and this week the dog was returned and the voucher removed, but no-one saw it happen.
Mr Dowse said the dog is back behind the bar, adding: "We have our suspicions of who did it and we don't think it was an inside job. So far no-one has been in to claim the meals."
