Studious Malmesbury official Sue Webb has received recognition for becoming one of the cleverest clerks in north Wiltshire.
Deputy town clerk Mrs Webb has obtained a certificate in local council administration from the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance.
It means she will be better equipped to ensure council matters such as planning applications and property inspections are run efficiently.
To obtain the certificate, Mrs Webb studied all aspects of council administration such as planning, law, finance and community action.
Mrs Webb said she was thrilled to have reached her goal, for which she started studying last May.
She said: "I am very happy. It is a qualification I can take with me wherever I go and I am hoping Malmesbury will benefit from it. As far as I know, only three clerks in north Wiltshire have this qualification."
Mrs Webb has 16 years experience of council business.
She obtained her certificate through a home-study course from the University of Gloucester.
