A THUG who threw a policewoman onto the ground as he was chased by officers after a domestic bust-up is due to be sentenced at Swindon Crown court today.
Christopher Jones, 22, of Edington Close, Freshbrook, pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm last week.
WPC Sally Fellows received a head injury and was distressed after the incident at Ventnor Close, Moredon, shortly before midnight on May 28 last year.
When he was later questioned Jones said he had drunk eight pints and three cans of beer.
The court heard that he had a long history of previous offences including a robbery in 2000 which landed him a three year jail term.
Jones denied throwing the officer over his shoulder and said he recklessly knocked her over when he got up.
Judge Tom Longbotham adjourned sentencing and released Jones on bail.
