THE managers of a Westbury pub have been fined £2,000 after admitting breaking noise level rules.
William and Robyn Bailey, who run Charlie's Bar in Market Place, were prosecuted by West Wiltshire District Council following complaints from nearby residents.
The couple each pleaded guilty to four charges when they appeared before magistrates in Chippenham on April 5. The charges were for breaches of a noise abatement notice and public entertainment licence conditions.
Council environmental health manager John Carter said: "The court was satisfied that the public entertainment licence imposed an obligation on the bar owners to monitor noise levels, as the premises are in the town centre with homes nearby. We always investigate noise complaints and issue noise abatement notices when there is a proven problem. We take cases to court when notices are breached.
Mr and Mrs Bailey were fined £250 on each charge and ordered to pay £460 costs.
