ECSTASY tablets with a street value of £200 were seized after police stopped a car in Warminster, a court heard.
Steven Wheeler, 23, of Sambourne Gardens, Warminster, admitted possession of a class A drug with intent to supply when he appeared before magistrates in Chippenham on Thursday.
Michelle Hewitt, prosecuting, said Wheeler was stopped in East Street on January 28 by police acting on information received from a member of the public.
She said: "He told police the tablets were in either the driver's side or passenger door.
He said he had been intending to sell them at around £2 - £2.50 a tablet.
"They were class A drugs, dangerous drugs, and he was going to sell them for commercial gain."
Tim Hammick, defending, said: "There were 47 whole tablets and then 17 pieces of other tablets. I don't think that quite gets to 60. It is not a huge amount."
The magistrates decided their powers were insufficient to pass sentence and adjourned the case, to a date yet to be confirmed, to Swindon Crown Court.
Wheeler was released on unconditional bail.
