GARY Hill is hoping to be fit in time to scupper former club Highworth's Hellenic Premier title hopes, writes CRAIG LYUS.
The Fairford defender broke his nose in the 1-0 defeat to Pegasus on Wednesday but will happily play through the pain to face his old team.
Hill scored a decisive own goal in the reverse fixture just a fortnight ago a memory he will want to erase.
That was a typically fraught derby and Highworth will want to avoid a similar battle.
"We edged it last time but it was a scrappy affair," said manager John Fisher.
"We've got people who are prepared to scrap, but we like to play football and that's what we've got to do against them.
"They will do everything they can to stop us winning it.
"Fairford will have a big say in who wins the title because they've still got to play Didcot as well but I don't think they'll put in the same amount of effort to beat them as they will against us."
Only the suspended Jamie Mills is missing for Highworth, while Hill is Fairford's only doubt.
Cinder Lane assistant Kev Moloney insists that Didcot and Highworth will get the full Fairford treatment in equal measure.
"We'll do the best we can do in all our remaining games," he said.
"If Highworth win all their matches they've won the title so it's in their hands."
Wootton Bassett are more concerned with matters at the other end of the table.
A 2-0 midweek loss at Bishops Cleeve leaves Bassett a point above the bottom two the predicted drop zone.
Bicester are the side immediately below them and that is where Bassett travel tomorrow for a crucial relegation clash.
In Division One West, Purton recall Darren Brown and Brinn Keetch to a full contingent to face Middle Barton away.
Purton co-boss Sean Clark said: "We lost to them earlier in the season so we will want to avenge that.
"They have picked up lately so it won't be easy although I'm confident we can get all three points if we can put in the sort of performance we're capable of."
And there's a derby at the Corinium Stadium where Cirencester United face Malmesbury Vics.
CORSHAM continue their pursuit of Screwfix Premier leaders Bideford.
Nobby Bush's side need maximum points at Barnstable and will hope the defending champions slip up against Backwell.
In the First Division, Calne go to Weston St Johns with a worry over the state of Darren Smart's groin injury.
Biddestone travel to Saltash.
