People are being urged to become 'woodland wise' by joining in a series of events based in Old Town and Lawn.
It starts with a guided walk on Sunday and the events will continue throughout the summer.
The activities have been organised by Leaves (Local Enterprise and Vocational Employment Schemes), which was set up in 2002 to give people working skills.
Woodland Wise is a community conservation project and walkers will get the chance to learn more about local woodland, enjoy the bluebells and how these can be conserved.
The circular route will take walkers through Bruddel Woods, Centenary Copse in Broome Manor Lane and Great Copse off Pipers Way.
Environmentalist Fred Gillam will be leading the walk and talking people through the sights.
It will start and finish in Farleigh Crescent in Lawn and people should be there at 2.30pm wearing suitable footwear. For further information contact Leaves on 541548 or 692596.
