CHIPPENHAM warmed up for their massive South West Two East play-off this Saturday by running up a half-century of points against Oakmedians.
But their preparations for this weekend's clash which will decide who plays in South West One next season will have altered slightly after a dramatic change in South West Two West on the final day.
Chippenham were expecting to play Spartans in the play-off, but will now tackle another Gloucester outfit, Coney Hill, who slipped off the top of the table with a 29-7 loss at Brixham.
Spartans claimed the title with a 33-15 defeat of Stroud.
Chippenham's 56-5 home win meanwhile, was some consolation for their midweek Bath Combination Cup final defeat to Walcot.
The first try came within five minutes with winger Ryan Surry scoring in the corner.
The conversion was added by Andy Williamson, who again added the extras as captain Rupert Crockett crossed.
Darren McMillan added a third and prop Mark Livesey the fourth.
Flanker Hamish Morton then crossed, as did Scott Sherratt soon after for a 34-0 half-time lead.
Further second period tries followed as both Morton and Crockett added their seconds, as did McMillan with a brilliant individual effort.
Oakmedians replied, but it was merely a consolation effort as McMillan completed his hat-trick.
