CHURCHFIELDS Lower School was treated to a performance by the renowned Royal Ballet last night.
They did a 45-minute 'open family performance' as part of a pilot project which saw the dance group go to nine schools in Swindon.
The Royal Opera House On The Road is a partnership between Swindon Dance and the Royal Ballet.
The cast of four dancers included Martin Harvey who played The Wolf in Matthem Hart's Sir Peter And The Wolf at the Royal Opera House.
He joined the Royal Ballet in 1996 and was promoted to soloist in 2002 and first soloist last year.
Headteacher of Churchfields, Steve Flavin said: "It's the first time the Royal Ballet have played in schools in this country so we were very honoured.
"It was such a big event for the school."
The event was a special 'open family performance' designed to reach children and families and encourage exploration of ballet in a fun way.
The ballet has also been giving workshops to schools in the town.
The schools involved were Wroughton Junior, Mountford Junior, Mountford Manor Primary, Ruskin Junior, Oaktree Nursery and Infants, Bridlewood Primary, Eastrop Infants, Westlea Primary, Lawn Primary and Lethbridge Primary.
