GAZETTE & HERALD: A VERDICT of suicide was recorded by a coroner into the death of a Corsham man who killed himself after an argument with his wife.
On November 15 last year, 32-year-old Jerome Charles Price of Silman Close, tied a rope to a telegraph pole, looped the other end around his neck and drove off in his car.
Coroner Richard Van Oppen said on Tuesday the family man left his marital home regarding a domestic issue and drove his car to where it was found, on a lane near Westwells Close, Corsham.
He explained how Mr Price had made it clear he wanted to die and he left a printed note in his white Vauxhall Cavalier.
A post mortem carried out on November 17 revealed he died due to pressure on the neck.
Mr Price, who was taking medication for depression was last seen by his wife at midday.
A walker, Darren Archer, of Westwell Road, Corsham, found his body at 1.30pm on the quiet track, which leads towards the disused Royal Arthur naval base, and called 999.
In a statement he said: "I think the engine of the car wasn't running and I saw a person sitting in the driver's seat."
And in another statement by Kevin Sowerby, of Westwood Road, Mr Van Oppen told how Mr Price indicated his intention to take his own life.
Mr Van Oppen expressed his sympathy to Mr Price's family and closed the inquest with a verdict of suicide.
