15977/3CARNIVAL fundraisers in Pewsey have acquired a monster machine a bicycle made for 11.
Supporters are planning to pedal it 50 miles from Pewsey to the coast at Christchurch to raise money towards replacing the carnival illuminations.
No-one is sure what the giant cycle was originally made for.
Carnival stalwart Tony Kimber was offered the machine by a local bus driver whose brother had it stored in a garage in Cheltenham.
Mr Kimber said: "I was going up to bring it back on top of the car but when I found out how big it was I had to ask Whatley's if I could use their truck."
The machine is made up of ten bicycles that have been chopped up and welded together with five riders on each side and one seat in front for the steersman.
Nick Wood is organising two teams of ten to ride the machine in relays to Christchurch over the August bank holiday weekend.
He said: "Fifty miles is not going to be the easiest goal, especially when you are as unfit as some of our number, me included."
