CHIPPENHAM enthused the home crowd at Allington Field on Sunday by winning their final and being crowned champions of Dorset and Wilts.
The only side from Chippenham to make it to this year's deciders, which were all held at Allington Field, the tension and nerves of the players on both teams were evident from the outset.
Bournemouth didn't allow Chippenham to settle quickly and produce their normal style of rugby, and after defending their own 22 initially, some strong forward play saw them advance into Bournemouth territory.
Sustained pressure from the home side eventually lead to a penalty try being awarded to Daniel Chivers.
The conversion was added by Lee Audis.
Later in the half, Audis added another penalty to further extend Chippenham's lead and from there until the half-time whistle, play swung from end to end with neither side gaining dominance.
The second half saw Chippenham start to relax and begin to play some enterprising rugby.
Their first touch down came from Matthew Whitehead after some fine interplay between the backs and the forwards. Whitehead went over in the corner for the try, giving Chippenham a 15-0 lead.
From the restart, Chippenham drove down into the Bournemouth half. Again some fine forward play saw Michael Mohan run from virtually the half-way line to score in the corner.
Chippenham wrapped up the game with two further tries from Josh Brown and Dave Gooding, opening up a final scoreline of 30-0.
Coach Ali Hunt said afterwards: "This was a great result. We were comprehensively better than Bournemouth and technically better."
