PEWSEY Vale's bottom of the table derby clash with Wootton Bassett ended all-square on Tuesday night.
In Vale's last game of the season, Barry Flippance put the home side in the lead when a long ball out of the Vale's defence by Luke Sharp found him in a good position in front of the opposition's goal on 13 minutes.
He dribbled around one defender and Daryl Simms in the Bassett goal to score.
Flippance then had a penalty appeal turned down on 39 minutes before Bassett scored ten minutes from time through a penalty of their own, converted by Steve Yeardley after a player had been brought down in the box.
Pewsey Vale had churned out a well-fought point on a Saturday with few opportunities against Ardley.
Pewsey boss, Steve Wootton, said he was pleased with the team performance.
"We had three or four young lads playing and they performed well and it was a good point away from home.
"They have not given up all season but at times we have not quite been good enough and the luck has not been with us."
It took 12 minutes of play before the first shot on goal fell for Vale striker Barry Flippance.
He got on the end of a raking pass and turned but was denied by the feet of home keeper Paul Tassell.
Pewsey Vale were playing well above their bottom-of-the-table position but Ardley did have chances of their own and Kevin Ackrill could have won it for the Vale but his powerful shot went wide.
