KENNET District Council has adopted an emergency procedure for responding to complaints of unauthorised gypsy sites on land it has bought.
The procedure applies to evenings and weekends and involves having an officer on call to visit such sites.
The end result could be for Kennet to issue a temporary stop notice which would last for 28 days after which the council would decide whether to make the notice permanent.
