WILTSHIRE Fire Brigade said it is disappointed with the lack of co-operation from some fire alarm companies as they try to cut down the number of false alarms.
The brigade has reiterated its plea to fire alarm companies in a renewed campaign to cut false alarms from low risk buildings, mainly offices.
Deputy chief officer Eugene Johnson said in May 2004 the fire brigade launched a new policy 'call challenge'. When a fire alarm goes off at a low risk premises during working hours they expected the fire alarm company to call their customer first to see if it's a genuine fire call.
Mr Johnson said: "To be fair some Alarm Receiving Centres were really good, but they're the exception."
