Della MoranSEVEN years after her own fight against cancer, Marlborough mum Della Moran is taking part in the Cancer Research Race for Life on May 8.
More than 800 women of all ages have enrolled to take part in the Marlborough 5k event in which they can run, jog or walk.
It will be the first time the Race for Life has been staged in the town, and will start from the college at 11am.
Mrs Moran, who with her husband Steve runs Moran's Catering of Distinction in London Road, says she is grateful to the medical profession for saving her life.
Through early diagnosis that she was suffering with non-Hodgkins lymphoma and a year of sometimes harrowing treatment, Mrs Moran has made a complete recovery.
Mrs Moran, 43, who has an 11-year-old son James, hopes to raise £1,000 by running the event and so far has sponsorship pledges of £1,000. Anyone wishing to sponsor her should ring (01672) 512405.
More volunteers of either sex are needed to help marshal the race and hand out water, or medals at the finish. To volunteer ring Karina Morgan on (01793) 882621.
