I HAVE recently had a hip replacement and feel I would like to publicly acknowledge my appreciation of the care given.
I did my nurse training in the 1960s when there was certainly a lot of attention given to in patient care but little thought to rehabilitation. Now the emphasis is on quick but supported discharge.
I had courteous and informative pre-operative preparation, effective in patient care and an excellent follow up provided by the orthopaedic supportive discharge scheme.
Well done NHS.
