GAZETTE & HERALD: PEOPLE in Park Lane, Chippenham, are calling for motorists to slow down and take care, because they fear a pedestrian could be injured following a spate of near misses on the pedestrian crossings.
Syrah Arnold, who has lived in Park Lane for seven years, said she was fed up with drivers zooming across the zebra crossings without seeing pedestrians either waiting to cross or already on the crossing.
Recently she said she was about to step out on to the crossing when a man in a vehicle two cars back in a queue decided to undertake, driving across the cycle path and the pavement, so she had to jump back to avoid being hit.
Resident Mark Kington said traffic travelled too fast up the one-way road and parked cars made it hard for drivers to see pedestrians. "You have to get right on the crossing before anyone will stop," he said.
Sgt Simon Pope of Chippenham Police urged people to report any incidents.
