They include the Wiltshire Times' Trevor Porter who took this photo (16938)THREE teenagers who sprung into action when a pensioner was knocked down by a car have been recognised for their public spirit.
Miriam Havergal, Billie Toye and Kieran Elliott were all 17 when they rushed to help a 70-year-old man in Bythesea Road, Trowbridge, in December. They kept the situation under control until the emergency services arrived, keeping the man still and directing the traffic away from the accident scene.
The trio of John of Gaunt sixth form pupils were among more than 100 people presented with civic awards by Trowbridge mayor Grace Hill at a ceremony held in the Civic Hall.
Several other young people were recognised for the good work they have done in the community.
The Longfield Boys, part of the Starry Eyes Talent Show group, picked up an award.
Members of Trowbridge Youth Council received awards for revitalising the group over the past year.
Town crier Trevor Heeks was praised as the town's best ambassador, having competed in competitions all around the world since becoming town crier in 1986.
The town's carnival royalty, Rachel Gallacher, Georgina Matthews, Selina Burke and Kayleigh Flexon, also received accolades for their roles representing the town.
