DICK Illing rang to thank the Adver for putting his question to the South Swindon election candidates. Mr Illing, a Gulf War veteran, contacted us because he wanted to ask the candidates for their views on Gulf War Syndrome. Their answers appeared in Monday's paper. "I found the answers very interesting," said Mr Illing. "Thank you for putting the question to them."
SWINDON Council contacted the Adver to say thank you for printing an article about shared ownership. The article, which highlighted what the authority could do to help people looking for affordable homes, led to more than 40 people contacting the council.
THE Town Crier at last Saturday's St George events in the town centre was Owen Collier, the deputy Town Crier for Wootton Bassett, not Fred Ferris, Swindon's Town Crier, as we stated.
We apologise for the mix-up.
JACKIE Wray, the manager of the Swindon Therapy Centre for Multiple Sclerosis, emailed reporter Gareth Bethell to say thank you for publicising the organisation's charity auction today at the Hilton Hotel, West Swindon.
Jackie said: "I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the great article. We really appreciate your help in promoting the event."
ROY Sims, 67, called to thank the Adver for our coverage of his daughter's wedding on St George's Day. Mr Sims, of Covingham, said: "Thank you very much for the article. It was a lovely piece and we're really glad you attended."
