THE final hustings before the election takes place tomorrow night.

Former Swindon Labour MP Lord Stoddard will chair the public meeting organised by the Swindon Stop the War Coalition.

The meeting, at 7.30pm at the Steam museum, will allow members of the public to question the candidates on their attitude to the war and the continued deployment of British troops in Iraq as well as on how best to combat terrorism and safeguard civil liberties.

It will be attended by North Swindon candidates: Michael Wills (Lab); Andy Newman (Socialist Unity); Robin Tingey (UKIP); and South Swindon candidates: Robert Buckland (Con); Sue Stebbing (Lib Dem); Alan Haywood (Ind); and Bill Hughes (Green). Other candidates are invited.

Mr Newman is secretary of Swindon Stop the War Coalition and Mr Hughes is vice-chairman but organisers stress the group does not favour any party.
