ELDERLY folk are reminded that Penhill Luncheon Club has re-opened.
Pensioners were devastated when the popular club folded in March.
No one could be found to replace 80-year-old Margaret Norton, who had been running it for 40 years.
Now, retired chef Mike Hawker and his wife Diana, of Winsley Close, Penhill, have taken over.
"If pensioners want a nice meal, some friendly chat and the chance to win at bingo then come along," said Mike.
The pensioners' club is run at the John Moulton Hall, in Penhill Drive. Doors open on wednesdays between 10am and 2pm.
Mike, a 62-year-old former industrial caterer, restarted the club with a £2,000 grant from Age Concern.
