IN response to Mr Glass who criticises the young for riding bicycles in the town centre: When are the elderly going to let up on the youngsters of today?
Not all are hooligans with no regard for others.
I was sat on a bench in town on Friday near Duck, Son and Pinker when four people cycled towards me on the road.
On reaching the pedestrian area three dismounted and one carried on regardless making shoppers move out of her way. You've guessed it. The three that stopped were young lads and the sinner was a lady of roughly 55 years of age. What an example to give!
I have four sons from 18 to 26 who have been brought up to respect people, like many other families.
The bad ones are in the minority so for once can we have some praise for the future oldies.
Hopefully they won't let shop doors shut in other peoples faces either as so often happens with elderly people. I have the greatest respect for pensioners but not when they consistently criticise our young and don't practice what they preach.
