Picture Ref: 72088-16A WOMAN has admitted taking part in making indecent videos of young children with her boyfriend.

Lesley Davies admitted two charges of taking indecent pictures of children when she appeared at Swindon Crown Court.

The 28-year-old filmed naked and semi-naked youngsters at beauty spot beaches like Studland in Dorset and Weston super Mare. Her former partner John Clarke, 34, had already admitted 16 counts of taking indecent images of children.

Davies, of Farrfield, Upper Stratton, pleaded guilty to taking indecent images of children between September 1992 and February 2003.

But Peter Henry, defending, told the court that the films his client accepted making were made no later than 1998.

He said: "She was a reluctant participant. She didn't take them herself but being aware her boyfriend was taking them and by her continued presence she was providing cover.

"This was not for any gratification for herself; it was for the other party. She was involved in the filming on beaches. It was naked or semi naked children playing on beaches."

At an earlier hearing, Clarke admitted taking indecent pictures of children as they played at the Cotswold Water Park.

He also made video images of youngsters, mainly boys, on beaches and at the water park while they played in the sunshine with their families.

A collection of over 4,000 photos were found on his computer when police raided his home as part of a national operation.

Police were acting on a tip-off from law enforcement officials in the US.

Clarke, also of Farrfield, Upper Stratton, admitted 16 counts of making and one of possessing indecent images of children and three specimen charges of making indecent photographs of children at Somerford Keynes, Studland and Weston-super-Mare.

A total of 4,334 images were found on CD rom or computer hard drive at Clarke's home, along with 15 videos.

Prosecutor Colin Meeke said the images ranged from the less serious end of the scale to some of the most obscene.

He said if the video films had been family snapshots taken on the beach they would not have been regarded as erotic posed pictures, but the Crown's case was that filming had concentrated on the groin areas of the children.

Both Clarke and Davies have been ordered to register as sex offenders and will be sentenced together at a later date.
