I, LIKE many others, was outraged to read the headline "banned driver escapes jail."

This story confirms my belief that our judiciary service has completely lost the plot.

I just cannot imagine where they get these magistrates from.

This man has 28 previous motoring convictions against him, which include driving while disqualified, drinking and driving and possession of drugs.

But his defending solicitor said putting this man behind bars would make his mother the biggest victim because he is her full-time carer.

The mind boggles. Perhaps this case will set a precedent for all those who are full time carers for their sick wives or mothers.

Will they now be allowed the same leniency if they should commit a motoring offence?

Who knows, if you also had kids you might, with the right defence solicitor, get off lightly for manslaughter, perhaps the nice judge/magistrate would refer you to an anger management programme.

This country's judicial system is a complete mockery, a laughing stock to all who see its failing administration.

And who can blame the police for turning a blind eye?

They're wasting their time taking offenders to court, knowing they will be given tea and sympathy by some blinkered judge/magistrate.
