THE Community Foundation for Wiltshire and Swindon has announced its new chairman Richard Handover.
Mr Handover lives with his family in rural Wiltshire, and is a non-executive director of Swindon's Nationwide Building Society.
He recently retired as WH Smith chairman, where he had also been WH Smith chief executive, Our Price managing director and WH Smith News managing director.
Mr Handover said: "There are as many issues facing people in need here in Wiltshire as there are in inner cities. I hope I can help the organisation to continue to benefit the whole community."
The Community Foundation manages charitable trusts set up by organisations and businesses, and acts as a broker between charities and grant-awarding bodies.
