WHO is listening to the people of Swindon and its neighbours and why is democracy being denied?
As a member of the public who attended the Local Plan Inquiry for Swindon where the controversial Croft Road/Hay Lane link was discussed, I am shocked by Swindon Council's statement that the signing of the legal agreements for this was imminent and would happen before the outcome of the Local Plan Inquiry is known.
What is the point of raising it in the first place at the Local Plan inquiry when the council already view this road as a 'done deal'?
Everybody's time including the Planning Inspector's is wasted.
What do the people of Swindon have to do to be heard and have their views taken into consideration as part of the democratic planning process?
The outcome of the Local Plan Inquiry must come before any legal agreements are signed, otherwise what is the point? This is just another not-so-bright idea being pushed through by the council onto the angry and frustrated people of Swindon and its neighbours.
