GRANT Smith has confirmed that three clubs have spoken to his agent and offered terms for the 2005-6 campaign.
Another two have expressed 'an interest' in securing his services next year.
The midfielder, who celebrated his 25th birthday yesterday, insists he still wants to remain at the County Ground though.
However, it seems that his exploits over the second half of the campaign have drawn admiring glances well beyond Wiltshire.
Smith, who was second behind Sam Parkin in the Swindon Town Supporters Club player of the year stakes this week, is still mulling over the offer put to him by Andy King.
He said: "Four or five clubs have talked to my dad (Smith's agent) and three have said what they'd be prepared to offer.
"All but one of the clubs are in this division at this stage. I have said I want to stay here though and I'm certainly not being greedy. I want to be loyal.
"We'll just have to see what happens."
The biggest concern for Smith at the moment is trying to make tomorrow's clash with Chesterfield.
Although a scan has revealed no break in his injured foot, he rates his chances of making the starting line-up as no more than 30-70.
He said: "I spoke to Reevesy after doing some running yesterday and it felt okay. But it still hurts when I try to strike the ball so I'd have to say it's doubtful at this stage."
Bristol City are one of the clubs allegedly tracking Smith with Matt Heywood also thought to be a target for Brian Tinnion.
On his club's official website the City boss has said it is no secret he is looking for a 'dominating central defender and a left-sided midfield player, capable of delivering quality crosses and good on set-pieces'.
Smith and Heywood, who is also being tracked by Mick Harford at Rotherham, certainly fit neatly into those categories.
Another player with a question mark hanging over his future is striker Sam Parkin.
A mystery bid has been received by the club although the striker himself remains in the dark at this stage not that he is unduly concerned.
He is simply focused on the Spireites, a side he has a good scoring record against.
Parkin, still being linked with a switch to promoted Hull, said: "I've tried to be honest but I think the fans will read into things anyway.
"I'm not thinking about what's going to happen in the summer. I'm just thinking about the final game and ending with a victory and a goal."
