PAUL Brickley has high hopes for next season after his side dominated their last two matches but only pick up one point.

A 3-0 defeat at Willand was followed by a 2-2 draw at Weston St Johns. The Westbury United boss has been delighted with the performances of his young players since taking charge but feels the results have not followed.

He is hoping to add a bit more experience to his squad and then feels they will ready to challenge for a top six position.

He said: "We were probably the better side in both games but we could not score the goals that we deserved.

"Against Weston we were 2-1 up and then lost the lead though an own goal and that has happened ever since I took over.

"I am looking forward to next season and hopefully we will be in the top six by Christmas. The football we have been playing since I took over has been good but we keep giving away silly goals. I think we need that little bit more experience to hold us together."

Champions Willand avenged their 3-0 loss at Westbury in a blistering spell of three goals in eight first half minutes.

Westbury hit back to enjoy most of the possession for the remainder of the game but were unable to find a break through.

In their final away game of the season on Monday Carl Harfield's own goal saw Weston snatch a late point. Greg Blenkinsopp gave the hosts the lead on 15 minutes before Lee Carpenter battled his way through four defenders to grab the equaliser five minutes later.

Carpenter headed his second midway through the half but Harfield's own goal meant Westbury had to settle for a point.
