ALAN Griffin has already enjoyed a season to remember but if things go his way in the next few days he could be celebrating a Screwfix Premier Division title.
The Corsham Town striker fired in five goals in last week's three league matches to take his tally for the season to 37 and help keep his side's faint title hopes alive.
A victory at Exmouth tomorrow in their last game of the season would move Corsham to the top of the table for the first time this campaign.
That would leave Bideford needing a point at Brislington on Tuesday to clinch the title.
Bideford's defeat there would give Corsham the championship in their first season in the Screwfix League's top flight, as long as they beat Exmouth tomorrow.
Griffin admits his side's progress has been unbelievable. He said: "No-one expected us to do what we have done this season and it would be great if we could win tomorrow and leave Bideford needing something for the title.
"For myself it has also gone better than expected. I set myself a target of 20 goals and I now have 37, so I have to be happy with that.
"I have played half the season with a foot injury but fortunately I have still been able to score goals and help the team."
Griffin started his recent scoring spree with a double in Thursday night's 2-1 at home to Hallen. He followed that up with another double in the 4-1 win against Clyst on Saturday and then grabbed the equaliser at Odd Down on Tuesday night.
Alan Webb scored the other two goals against Clyst as Corsham stretched their unbeaten run to 11 matches, with just two defeats coming in the last 38 games.
They have now cemented a second place finish at least, and are also this season's Wiltshire Senior Cup winners.
Griffin's scoring exploits are bound to attract interest from rival clubs. After turning down a move to Chippenham Town earlier this season, he admits he is unsure where he will be next season.
He said: "I am glad I stayed for the rest of this season because every game I play here I learn new things and it was definitely the right decision at the time.
"I have not had any more offers at the moment and to be honest I just want to get the season over with before I start making any decisions.
"I will certainly listen to people in the summer and who knows it may be time for me to move on. But that is for me to decide then."
