LEAGUE newcomers CS Filos lifted the Division Two Cup on Tuesday night with a 2-1 win over Westbury United A at Bradford Town's ground.
The game opened at a cracking pace with Westbury dominating the early stages and missing a relatively easy chance in the first few minutes. Two more good opportunities were foiled by timely saves by Filos' keeper Dave Hall.
After a goal-less first half, the deadlock was broken after 65 minutes when a good run by Jason Willcox left Danny Bliss with the opportunity to put Filos ahead with a brilliant volley.
Player-manager Pete Davies then put the issue beyond doubt in the 86th minute when he slotted home Filos' second goal, but the excitement continued right to the end when two minutes later Westbury's Stuart Barber was brought down just inside the box and got up himself to score from the penalty to reduce the deficit just before the final whistle.
The trophies were presented by Alan House on behalf of sponsors Taylor Kitchens and Bedrooms of Trowbridge.
Man of the match was CS Filos skipper Paul Bryant.
