BRADFORD Town are bidding to retain the Wiltshire League cup tomorrow, but manager Mark Hodkinson admits even victory will be a huge ant-climax.

While his players look to overcome AFC Stratton in tomorrow's final at Corsham Town's Southbank ground, Hodkinson's thoughts will be elsewhere as the Wiltshire League season draws to a close.

A Cricklade victory at home to Marlborough will secure them runners-up spot behind Corsham Town Reserves and condemn Bradford to another season in the Wiltshire League.

Even a victory in the Corsham Print League Cup tomorrow will not be enough to hide the disappointment of missing out on promotion to the Screwfix League and would leave Hodkinson seriously considering his future.

He said: "I have already spoken to someone at Marlborough and they have agreed to keep me in touch with what is going on. The final is a good occasion for the players but my thoughts will definitely not be there.

"The game at Cricklade is far more important for me and the people at the club after all the hard work and money that has been put in to get our ground ready for promotion.

"I am not whether I would stay or not if we did not get promotion, but if I did a lot of things would have to change."

Just before Christmas Bradford were looking certainties for promotion but a stuttering second half of the campaign leaves them looking likely to just miss out on promotion.

Hodkinson has accused some of his players of lacking the desire to achieve success and even quit as boss a few weeks ago before being persuaded to return.

He said: "The last few months have been extremely disappointing. It is now out of our hands and that is very frustrating considering the position we were in.

"I don't know whether promotion means as much to some of the players as it does to me and others behind the scenes at the club.

"The players are all very talented but it is as though the passion is not there which for someone like me is very hard to understand."

Hodkinson is already planning talks with chairman Les Stevens before deciding his future, but revealed if he did stay there could be a complete revamp of the team next season.

He said: "If I stay and we don't go up I want to be able to go out and get a different side because I don't want another year in this league.

"I want to manage Bradford in the Screwfix League because it would be a challenge and would be great for the town.

"Maybe I will need to go and find players whose Western League days are coming to an end. Perhaps I need to build a team for just one season who will get us out of the league.

"But I seriously don't know what it going to happen yet and whether I want to stay as manager. I will have to think seriously after this weekend."
