I AM writing in relation to the front page article you had on the Bond Street problems (Fri April 29).
I have been a resident of Bond Street for five years, and yes there have been changes, inconsiderate parking being one of these, but I have not ever seen prostitutes or drug dealers hanging around on the streets, what is this, the Bronx?
I understand that people feel irate when their cars get vandalised but this is not just a Bond Street problem, this has also happened in Waterworks Road, Gloucester Road, Park Street and so on. Whilst not desirable behaviour, if someone has been approached for sex does this conclude there is a prostitute problem down Bond Street? I don't think so.
Living at the Frome Road end of Bond Street I have certainly not noticed it being used as a drug dealers' den or a brothel and I do take interest and pride in the area in which I live. I think the bigger picture is the whole area and not just Bond Street should not be singled out as a specific problem.
The only thing that has brought the house prices drastically down is the fact that people are advertising that this is a bad and dangerous place to live, when it is indeed not.
