A DRUG addict caught stealing from a garage has been spared jail and put on a drug treatment and testing order.
Roger Cook, 36, was spotted stealing power tools from a garage in Hargreaves Road, Trowbridge, on February 23.
Colin Meeke, prosecuting at Swindon Crown Court on Friday, said police arrived at 4am following a call from a neighbour and found Cook with the stolen power tools.
Cook, of Carders Corner, Trowbridge, admitted charges of burglary, going equipped for theft, handling stolen goods and possessing amphetamines and cannabis.
Judge John McNaught sentenced him to a six-month drug treatment and testing order and an 18-month probation order, but said he would face jail if he broke the conditions of either order.
