SOUTH SWINDON: INDEPENDENT candidate Alan Hayward vowed to fight the next election after feeling like a 'local real ale in a bath-full of city lager'.
"I have learnt an awful lot in the past three or four weeks of this campaign and I treated this election as a dress rehearsal for the next when I will be a lot more prepared," Mr Hayward said.
"The three main parties steal the limelight in the final couple of weeks. Next time I will have to start earlier and let people know what I am about.
"I am the local real ale in a bath-full of city lager from large breweries. That's how I feel in this election."
Mr Hayward reiterated that his policy was to have no policies.
"I have a single principle and that is to stand up and fight for the people of South Swindon," he said.
"Party politics has let down the British public over the past 25 years. People no longer trust politicians."
