A SWINDON organic farm is holding a spring open day.

Eastbrook Farm, near Bishopstone, will be welcoming visitors on Saturday, May 14 from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

The day will feature tractor and trailer rides, guided tours around the farm to see Eastbrook's native breed British Saddleback pigs and suckling calves, as well as nature trails and walks through a nearby valley.

Ornithologist Clive Hill will be bringing his birds of prey and sharing his knowledge with visitors, while a landscape artist will be capturing Eastbrook Farm on canvas.

There will also be the opportunity to try some of the food the farm has become famous for, including burgers and sausages.

At the end of the day Helen Browning will announce the winner of the prize draw, who will be presented with a £50 organic meat voucher.

On Monday and Tuesday children from Southall, in London, will be visiting the farm to learn about food and science.

"We have been committed to helping educate children for the last 15 years or so by getting them involved in the farm," said Barbara Rayner, from the farm.

"We find that by involving children in healthy eating by showing them where their food comes from, we instill in them an infectious enthusiasm."
